The government officials of many gulf countries have approached Nepal government to help them in recruitment of Nepalese as house workers and security guards. Qatar government showed keen interest in recruitment of more Nepalese in the country.

Qatar has already recruited more than 4, 50,000 Nepalese but only a few of them are working as security guards.
Nepalese are much in demand for the job of security guards because of their skills and experience. Qatar is aware of the sharpness and mind stability of retired Nepal army officers and police officials and showed readiness in recruitment of the same as security guards.

The vigorous training sessions attended by Nepal army men and police officials will also help in developing skills of fresh and inexperienced candidates. Nepali security guards are affordable and reliable and prove out as a reliable manpower for security services.

“The Qatari envoy has praised the works of Nepali workers as security guards and have requested us to send more guards to cater to the increasing demand there,” said Babu Ram Acharya, Secretary,Ministry of Labour and Transport Management (MoLTM). A labour pact to be signed between Nepal and gulf nations is also in progress.

Minister of Labour and Transport Management also asked Qatar to set up few training centers at Nepal to keep a check on the regular selection of skilled candidates. Training sessions will also help eligible candidates to develop their skills.

There is an increase in the number of workers leaving for Qatar in recent time. The number of workers who left for Qatar reached 28,448 last month. Qatar is third in the list of countries hiring Nepal manpower after Malaysia and Saudi Arabia. A total number of 35,940 Nepali workers left for Malaysia in a period of six months.

Malaysia also came forward for promoting Nepal manpower recruitment by establishing Nepali domestic help centre which simplifies legal frame work for Nepali workers.

The report submitted by transport department also revealed that the increase in debarred licenses was about 10 percent of the year 2010. There were about 2,874 road accidents recorded in 2010 because of poor eye-sight.

Every driver in UK is aware of driving tests and rules with transport department. A strict procedure is followed for issuing driving license in UK. The drivers are made to read the number plate at a distance of 20metres before receiving driving license form. Still, there is no provision for regular eye testing for UK drivers.

In 2011 driving officials debarred about 5285 licenses of cars and bikes owners. The driver’s eye sight was not even able to well enough to drive. Around 685 Lorries and bus driver’s license were banned by the officials only because of poor eye-sight issues.

In 2010 about 4906 licenses were torn. This included many car and bike owners. Around 493 Lorries and bus driver’s license were also debarred by officials.

The transport officials have also asked many drivers to get their eyes tested and do the needful. Road accidents are attributed mostly due to poor sight. Roadside eye tests are also conducted by Police officials if they believe the driver lacks proper eye-sight.

Offshore drilling is a process for extraction of hydro carbon compounds lying beneath the surface of the earth known as Fossils. This process of off shore is drilling under sea or ocean bed. This is the most prominent method for extraction of oil. Off shore drilling is performed differently for different depths of water bodies. For deep water drilling semi-submersibles or drill ships are used and for shallow depths anchor technology is used.

Petroleum companies are investing billions over Off-shore Drilling. The first off-shore platform was constructed in 1897 at a Wharf near California. Since then the oil drillers are working hard towards extraction processes.

The fuel we use today is nothing but dead decay of plants and animals in the sea. It further got trapped beneath dirt and because of excessive pressure and heat, it transformed in what we call today petroleum oil and petroleum gas. Oil drilling and extraction takes a lot of study. Finding the availability of fossils to detecting the types of rocks involves a lot of research. An instrument known as Gravity meter is used to detect flow of oil beneath the surface of Earth.

After detecting and confirming the site of oil reserve, drill action is performed. A drill is allowed to penetrate through the rock and a shaft is forced in the hole. The oil is sucked up through the shaft and is taken care that oil does not shoot up like in an oil geyser. The oil pressure is checked by engineers with the help various explosives. These explosive help to perforate the rate of production of oil.

The oil which is extracted is stored in wells called Oil wells. The oil collected in these wells is not pure. This is crude oil and is sent to refineries for extracting various petroleum products like petrol, diesel, petroleum wax and many more.

Offshore drilling is carried out by various methods like Drilling barge, Jack-up, Submersible rig, Semi-submersible rig or Drill ships.Drilling barge is used for shallow water drilling. It is a floating barge with all drilling equipment mounted on it. Jack-up drilling is similar to Barge drilling but with an exception of legs. These legs are lowered into the water body to touch the ground. This strengthens the drilling process by providing stable environment. Submersible Rig drilling is a combination of Barge and Jack up. The only difference is the barge in Submersible rig is allowed to reach the floor of water body and the extraction platforms are kept at some height above the water surface. Semi-Submersible rigs are same as submersible rigs but are designed to work in deep water extraction. Drill ships are also used for deep water extractions. These are ships equipped with drilling and oil extraction machines and use satellites and sensor technology to locate oil beneath the surface.

Crude cannot be located or extracted or sent to refineries without human effort. Fossils are very essential for present generation and misuse of fossil fuel may lead to bad scenario. We should keep in mind how valuable any fuel is before consuming it. It takes a lot of time to extract fossils but seconds to desolate.

The Chancellor George Osborne made a statement that £5.5bn more will be invested in the Infrastructure plans this autumn. About £1.5bn is invested in roads and about £333M to be invested in ‘urgent maintenance’ work.

After great research, the report presented by Osborne says, money will be saved from many departments with the resource budget for departments to fall by 1% from the next year.

The A1 construction project from Leeming to Barton of dual three lanes is the biggest on-going project. This project is consuming about £314M for constructing an expressway to link London with New Castle.

The plan for A1 construction was scrapped from 2010. The construction of A1 scheme was one of the nine schemes scrapped in 2010 comprehensive Spending Review. They upgrade schemes were likely to get turned off because of the lack of funding, said Osborne. They were to get cancel and removed from the list of programme.

But with the new funding, the A1 construction plan is back on the list with an addition of gate-heads. The Gate-heads add about £64M to the A1 scheme. The A1 construction is said to get completed by 2014 while gate-heads will complete by 2015.

“This is the first budget announcement from the coalition government that business in the North East can really get behind. The £378M upgrade of the A1 to motorway from London to Newcastle is a huge success for those of us who have lobbied long and hard for infrastructure investment and will help our firms deliver more for UK Plc.” quoted Ross Smith, North East Chamber of Commerce director of policy.

Osborne declared about £400M for road maintenance and about £333M for maintenance and renewal work. The scheme is also welcomed by Civil Engineering Contractors Association (CECA).

Many projects lined up in the scheme will begin after the funds are received. This includes the M1, M3 and M6 motorway and up gradation of A13 with M25 junction.

There were many plans exposed by Osborne concerning funds and expenditure of 2015-2016. The spending reviews will be announced in the mid of the year 2013.

Many local markets are showing interest in stock marketing in order to increase their economy. This also includes the famous working family of Dubai – Al Habtoor group. There is a rise in the stock market after 2 years of bad growth. Middle Eastern companies earned over 1.37 billion dollar through IPO’s only in the first six months as compared to 396.47 million dollar in first half of 2011.

Many regional stock markets in Dubai have witnessed the rise in economy from the beginning of this year. There was about 16 percent rise in Dubai’s DFM general index and about 10 percent rise was seen by Saudi’s benchmark Tadawul Index. The average turnover of all stock markets was almost doubled in the gulf area.

“When people see markets active again , they are ready to push the button .opportunities remain for quality companies to IPO in the second half of 2012 and in 2013, “ said Christopher Laing , managing director at Deutsche Bank.

The opening of stock market to direct foreign investment will bring more international money in the region , helping the economy to boost up. Some of the companies might not be able to Pursue IPO, local economy but petro dollar wealth will remain active and significant.

Most of the investors from European countries are looking forward to investing in Arabian market as told by Al Habtoor Group Chairman. “This is a sign of trust in the financial security of this country. The UAE is not as big as china and therefore we ca take care and control our problems. “ Habtoor told Zawya Dow Jones.

Many experts are worried about the selling of at least 55 percent share of companies of the main markets in Dubai and Abu Dhabi . This deters owners to relinquish control ans is one of the main obstacle for companies to list.

The senior Vice President of Damac confirms the location at the ‘Burjside’ area of Dubai. 75 percent of the construction will be done at Burjside and the remaining will erect in the areas of Qatar, Jordan and Saudi Arabia. The construction near Burjside area is set to complete by the mid of 2013.

“We are here at the cityscape taking a leader ship position in showcasing serviced apartments, One year ago we had acknowledged that the market was beginning to turn” says Niall McLoughlin, Senior VP, Damac.

The companyowns 20 big hotels in Dubai but very few of them are considered of five star level, said McLoughlin. The Tourism Industry has shown great growth with Hotel Industry. The hotel occupancy rates are steady with 84% growth and an increase of 60% was seen with RevPAR (revenues per average room rates). The growth is attributed mostly because of Ramadan period in July, says McLoughlin.

The serviced apartments are popular with visitors from Saudi region. They prefer a fully serviced apartment for their family to accommodate in. Damac is focussing on development of Residential complexes as investors are confident of the regulatory environment being solid now. For the developers to sell the apartment, plot registration with the government, zone permit, unit registration and about 20 percent of the completed project is required.

The infrastructure in Dubai is reaching heights with new malls, bridges, dams and schools being constructed every now and then. Even during the recent Financial Crisis, the company was adamant about completing the under developed projects than starting a new one. The company completed construction work of 37 buildings with around 8000 completely serviced residential apartments. The company is about to complete its 12000 new constructions in short time.

“We are now, one of the leading construction developers in the region and our name in the region speaks for itself’ added McLoughlin.

If we go by the recent data given by the recruitment analysts, the Dubai employers are picking up fast in providing quality jobs despite the global economic downturn of 2008. The majority of jobs being created in the GCC are on a high, if the recent report is to be believed.

The status of the global market influences the employment market in this city which is why; it was hit hard by the economic slowdown some years back. But no other country in the Gulf faces the same situation like Dubai. More than its neighboring counterparts, it is more likely to be affected by the fate of global markets.

Though the job market in Dubai faced a major decline due to recession, it bounced back with the same spirit and that too at a point of time when the global scenario is uncertain. It has created a wide range of employment opportunities, thanks to its hub status which is helping its service sectors.

The market is gearing up fast, especially in the SME sectors; due to which Dubai is regaining the confidence of its professionals, said Toby Simpson, Managing Director, The Gulf Recruitment Group to Emirates 24|7.

He also pointed out of Dubai being the lucrative destination for many job seekers across the world. It continues to be a preferred market for many world class companies and this proves to be quite helpful in the growth of this city.

As far as the human talent market is concerned, Dubai can achieve a good target by keeping a stand by approach between markets and companies. This way, the not-so-active overall market keeps on going at a right pace.

It is also planning to hire more employees in the upcoming years, with 63 percent employers recruiting this year itself.

The combination of staff turnover and jobs growth remained beneficial in increasing the regional recruitment activity in Dubai in the year 2011. According to a latest data, 37 percent of the employers carried out recruitment activity in Dubai, which is 15 percent higher than the previous year, which saw only 22 percent employers in Dubai job market.

Although the growth was still lower than other Gulf countries, it was welcomed by many.

Among other gulf countries, the economic growth as well as government spending on infrastructures is high in Saudi Arabia with 62 percent companies increased their head count in 2011 as compared to 55 percent companies in 2010.

Oman had 57 percent companies hired in 2011 compared to 56 percent in 2010. While the year of 2011, Bahrain saw 8 companies recruiting in the job market in comparison to 23 percent in 2010, Kuwait and Qatar had only 51 percent companies hired last year.

The efforts of UAE to be a plastic bag free nation by 2013 are already known. In a Way to educate and prepare the residents to the 2013 deadline to make UAE free of plastic bags a lot of activities are happening in Abu Dhabi.

For the Weekend the capitals is to see Public lecture, workshops and fun Activities. Speakers from EAD (Environmental agency-Abu Dhabi) talked about the damage that plastic bags do to the environment, people responded positively to them at Al wahda mall.

The stats put by one of the Volunteer there was pretty scary. According to him,” The US uses about 21 billion plastic bags a year and the UAE, uses 11 billion.” – That is indeed a big quantity.

Making eco-friendly bags out of old shirts and trousers are thought to elders and the children Learnt how improperly disposed plastic bags, can get blown over to the sea and the desert which affect turtles and camels.

What is more staggering that the bad plastic bags cause to the environment is how it turns out to be lethal against certain life forms?

Jelly fish are a favorite feed for turtles in sea. When a turtle sees a plastic bag floating in the sea it think it as a jelly fish and eat them, obviously they get sick by that.

Plastic bags are also said to be a killer for camels. Fifty percent of the camels that die are killed by eating plastic bags.

The EAD campaign will move to Al Ain for the next week followed by the western regions in the week after.
